Frank Mir Injured, Out of Strikeforce Fight Against Daniel Cormier

STUDIO MMA, RIVERSIDE, CA – Zuffa has yet another dilemma on their hands.

An undisclosed injury has forced former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir to withdrawal from his upcoming November 3rd bout against Strikeforce heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.  MMAJunkie.com first reported the news Tuesday night.

Mir was going to be the first active UFC fighter to make the leap to Strikeforce.  Mir was last seen at UFC 146 replacing Alistair Overeem to fight UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos. However, Mir came up short in regaining the heavyweight title, losing via second round TKO.

No word on who will replace Mir and take on Cormier. With many of UFC’s top heavyweights scheduled to fight, only a few names come to mind: Ben Rothwell, Fabricio Werdum, and Fedor Emelianenko if he comes out of retirement.

Who should replace Mir?
