‘The Ultimate Fighter 17’ Open Tryouts Sept.17 in Vegas
STUDIO MMA, RIVERSIDE, CA – “The Ultimate Fighter 17” open tryouts are set for September 17 at the Palace Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Open to all fighters in the middleweight (185 lbs) and light heavyweight (205 lbs) divisions. Light heavyweights have not been featured since “TUF 8”, while middleweights haven’t since “TUF 11” and “TUF: Brazil” (earlier this year).
All fighters must be at least 21 years old, have a minimum of three professional mixed martial arts fights, and a winning record. Registration will begin at 8 a.m. Fighters will be required to hit pads and grapple. Be sure to bring your own gear.
If selected to advance in the competition, fighters must be prepared to stay in Las Vegas up until Sept. 22.
“TUF 16” is set to air its two-hour premiere on September 14. The season will feature heavyweight coach’s Roy Nelson and Shane Carwin, who will coach a full cast of welterweight (170 lbs).
“TUF 17” will air in early 2013, no coaches have been named.
