[BREAKING] Phil Davis Vs. Wagner Prado Do-Over Moved Back To UFC 153
STUDIO MMA, VENICE, CA — It was a tremendous disappointment for everyone involved when an inadvertent eye poke ended the UFC on Fox 4 fight between Wagner Prado [8-0-0 1NC] and Phil Davis [9-1-0-1NC MMA] just 88 seconds into the first round. And, quite clearly, it was Prado who was most upset by the doctor’s stoppage. Not only was he bleeding from his right eye, but his debut in the Octagon was cut short at a moment when he seemed to have one of the top 205-pounders on the ropes.
Representatives of the UFC initially indicated that the two men will redo their bout at UFC on FX 5 in Minneapolis on October 5. However, Prado’s manager Gary Ibarra of AMR Group has informed Studio MMA that the bout will now become part of the beefy UFC 153: Aldo vs. Koch card, which takes place on October 13 in Rio de Janeiro. The Davis-Prado match fills in a hole left by Vitor Belfort, who was called on to fight for the light heavyweight championship against Jon Jones on September 22. Belfort had been scheduled to face Alan Belcher at UFC 153.
