What A Difference A Month Makes: Before & After Photos of Jonny Bones
STUDIO MMA, VENICE, CA — If you’ve been following UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones’ Twitter, you may have seen him post several photos documenting his recent training camp. Jones, of course, defends his belt for the fourth time against Dan Henderson at UFC 151 on Saturday, September 1 in Las Vegas.
Notably, on July 12, 2012, Jones tweeted a photo that he tagged as #skinnyfat, and noted that his weight at the time was 227 pounds. What struck viewers, Studio MMA included, was that the subject of this photo did not seem to be a man who many have called the greatest athlete in the history of MMA.
Here it is:
That is not the highly-trained, chiseled physique that we are accustomed to witnessing delivering beat-downs in the Octagon. In the wake of the champ’s car crash and DUI arrest, this picture made us questoin his motivation and mental focus.
But, less than 1 month later, there seems to have been a dramatic turn around for Jones’ physique. Check out the photo he tweeted on August 10, 2012:
What on earth?! Are we mistaken, or does it look like the champ has burned 10 pounds of fat and tacked on 20 pounds of muscle? July 12, he had the body of Gerard Gordeau (UFC 1… google it). Today he has the body of an uber-fit Rampage Jackson.
Here is the before and after composite:
Chuck Norris, take note. With photos like this, Bones could sell a lot of “Total Gyms.”
It must be nice to have those genes.
