Vitor Belfort Vs. Alan Belcher Official for UFC 153

STUDIO MMA, RIVERSIDE, CA – Middleweight contenders Vitor Belfort and Alan Belcher have verbally agreed to meet at UFC 153, October 13 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. UFC confirmed the bout Thursday.

Belfort [21-9-0 MMA, 10-5-0 UFC] recently dropped out of his scheduled bout against Wanderlei Silva at UFC 147 due to a broken hand sustained in training. Prior to the injury, Belfort knocked out Yoshihiro “Sexyama” Akiyama at UFC 133 and submitted (Rear-Naked Choke) Anthony Johnson at UFC 142.

Meanwhile, Belcher [18-6-0 MMA, 9-4-0 UFC] looks to get passed Belfort and get his middleweight title shot. Belcher is riding a four fight win streak, most recently fighting off leg lock attempts to TKO Rousimar Palhares at UFC on FOX 3.
