Grudge Bout Set for UFC 153 – Swedens Fan Favorite Reza Madadi vs Cristiano Marcello
STUDIO MMA, LOS ANGELES – Swedish-Iranian fighter, Reza “Maddog” Madadi has accepted to fight Cristiano Marcello in Brazil at UFC 153. Former Superior Challenge lightweight champion, Madadi submitted Yoislandy Izquierdo in his UFC debut earlier this year at UFC on Fuel: Gustafsson vs Silva.
Cristiano Marcello who is associated with Chute Box academy as a head BJJ coach, challenged Reza Madadi last year at Superior Challenge 7 in Sweden. Moments after Madadi won the promotions vacant lightweight belt by defeating UFC veteran Rich Clementi, Marcello stepped in the cage during Madadi’s interview and grabbed the microphone and called out Madadi who quickly responded “You are not in my level, so don’t try” and stepped out of the cage.
Marcello then continued: “I will finish you”!
Apparently those words triggered Madadi who walked back in the cage and grabbed the microphone from Marcello and said “I killed Oriol Gaset in less than a minute, you couldn’t even finish him, so (explicit) off”!!
UFC officals has now confirmed the bout and fans can expect fireworks in October as these two will go at it.
