[EXCLUSIVE] Kyle Kingsbury Vs. Jimi Manuwa Booked for UFC on Fuel TV 5
STUDIO MMA, RIVERSIDE, CA – Kyle Kingsbury will welcome undefeated light heavyweight prospect Jimi Manuwa to the octagon at UFC on Fuel TV 5: Struve vs. Miocic.
A source close to the situation confirmed the bout to StudioMMA.com.
TUF 8 alum, Kingsbury [11-4-0 MMA, 4-3 UFC] is currently riding a two fight losing streak, dropping a unanimous decision to Stephan Bannar and a recent submission loss to Glover Teixeira at UFC 146. Prior, Kingsbury was climbing up the light heavyweight division with four straight victories over Razak Al-Hassan, Jared Hamman, Ricardo Romero and Fabio Maldonado.
Newly signed Manuwa [11-0-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC], a Nigerian-English light heavyweight, has an unblemished record. With a 100% finish ratio, ten knockouts and one submission. Manuwa turned down an offer from the UFC earlier in his career, citing it was not the right time in his career but insisted the UFC was his ultimate goal. After a TKO win victory over Anthony Rea at BAMMA 8, Manuwa finally signed with the UFC in July.
UFC on Fuel TV 5 takes place on September 29 at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England.
