[VIDEO] Bisping Hopes to Fight Sonnen for the Title Next
STUDIO MMA, RIVERSIDE, CA – Michael Bisping was forced to withdrawal from his UFC 149 bout against Tim Boetsch. “The Count” was hoping to get back in the win column and one step closer towards a title shot, but a knee injury has set back the Englishman.
Bisping appeared on HD Net’s Monday edition of “Inside MMA” weighing in on his knee injury, surgery and who he wants to face next.
Yeah, left knee; slightly torn meniscus. I had some loose bodies — two rather large pieces of cartilage floating around inside. I had what they call, ‘fraying of the knee’ inside. It’s general wear and tear. So they went in, repaired the meniscus, removed the loose bodies and cleaned up the knee, somewhat. That was last Wednesday. I’m still in a lot of pain, limping around a lot. But I’m hoping, within a few weeks, I’ll be back in the gym, I want to fight ASAP.”
Bisping picks Chael Sonnen to dethrone Anderson Silva at UFC 148 and explains why he should fight for the title next.
