Mike Swick vs. DaMarques Johnson, Plus 3 More Bouts Added to UFC on FOX 4

STUDIO MMA, RIVERSIDE – Four bouts have been added to UFC on FOX 4: Lombard vs. Stann, August 4 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.  Mike Swick (14-4 MMA, 9-3 UFC) makes his return to the octagon after over two years away, dealing with injuries and a stomach disease. Swick faces fellow TUF alum, DaMarques Johnson (16-10 MMA, 4-4 UFC).

Additional action in the featherweight division includes Josh Grispi (14-3 MMA, 0-2 UFC) vs. Pablo Garza (11-3 MMA, 2-2 UFC), Nam Phan (17-10 MMA, 1-3 UFC) vs. Cole Miller (18-6 MMA, 7-4), and Manny Gamburyan (11-7 MMA, 2-5 UFC) vs. Michihiro Omigawa (13-11-1 MMA, 1-3 UFC).

TUF 1 alum Swick hasn’t fought since February of 2010, losing via submission to Paulo Thiago at UFC 109. Before that, Swick dropped a hard fought unanimous decision to Dan Hardy at UFC 105. His opponent, Johnson, is coming off a submission loss to John Maguire at UFC on Fuel TV 2.

Once a top featherweight contender, Grispi is riding back-to-back losses to Dustin Poirier at UFC 125 and George Roop at TUF 13 Finale. Garza, as well, is on a two-fight losing streak, dropping a submission loss to Poirier at UFC on FOX 1 and a decision to TUF 14 runner-up Dennis Bermudez at UFC on FOX 3.

Phan looks to rebound from a dominating unanimous decision loss to rising prospect Jim Hettes at UFC 141. Prior, Phan avenged a controversial 2010 loss to Leonard Garcia, earning a unanimous decision at UFC 136. Miller made his 145 lb debut at UFC on FX 2, dropping a unanimous decision to TUF 14 alum Steven Siler.

Gamburyan is in a must win situation, coming off three consecutive defeats. A 2010 loss to Jose Aldo at WEC 51, and back-to-back decision losses to Tyson Griffin at UFC Live 4 and Brazilian Diego Nunes at UFC 141.  Currently in his second stint with the promotion, Omigawa has gone 1-3, losing a decision to Luri Alcantar at UFC 142. In Omigawa’s previous bout, the Japanese star captured a unanimous decision victory over Jason Young at UFC 138.
